Licence terms
What you can do with a beat
These terms apply to every beat bought on Stussy Beats. By buying a licence you agree to them. The producer ("Stussy") keeps ownership of the beat; you get permission to use it as described below.

"Streams" means plays added together across all platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Audiomack, Boomplay, YouTube and others). Paid live performances are allowed on every licence. The Tagged MP3 and MP3 lease are bought and downloaded on the website; the WAV and stems leases are arranged directly with Stussy, on these same terms.
Every licence
- One song. Each licence covers one new song made with the beat, released under the name of the person who bought it. Buy another licence for another song.
- Credit. Credit the producer as "Prod. by Stussy" wherever credits appear: streaming platforms, video descriptions, covers and liner notes.
- Ownership. Stussy keeps the copyright in the beat. Your lyrics, vocals and melody are yours.
- Songwriting share. Stussy is a co-writer of the song and keeps 50% of the songwriting (publishing) share. Register the song that way with collecting societies and distributors.
- Non-exclusive. Leases are not exclusive. Other artists may lease the same beat until it is sold exclusively.
- No expiry. The licence doesn't run out. If your song goes past its limits, upgrade to a higher licence or contact Stussy before you go further.
- Exclusive sale later. If someone buys exclusive rights to the beat, your licence stays valid on the terms you bought.
Tagged MP3
- You may release the song for free, with credit, for example on social media, SoundCloud or a free YouTube upload.
- You may not earn money from it: no monetised videos, no paid streaming distribution, no sales.
- The voice tag must stay in. Don't remove, cut or cover it.
Not allowed with any lease
- Selling, sharing, giving away or uploading the beat on its own, or putting it in sample packs, loop kits or beat libraries.
- Claiming you made the beat, or registering the beat as your own work.
- Registering the beat or the song with YouTube Content ID or any other audio-fingerprinting system.
- Transferring, selling or sub-licensing your licence to anyone else.
- Using the beat, or songs made with it, to train or feed artificial intelligence or machine-learning models, or in AI music or voice tools.
- Using the beat for anything illegal.
If the terms are broken
The licence ends straight away, and Stussy may ask platforms to remove the song. Money paid for the licence isn't refunded.
Refunds
Because beats are digital files delivered immediately, purchases can't be refunded once the files are available to download. If something is wrong with your files, contact Stussy and it will be put right.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
